IME Ltd., IMECSL and IME Automotives conduct workshop on Role of Cooperatives in Remittance IME Ltd., IME Cooperative Service Ltd. (IMECSL) and IME Automotives have jointly conducted a one day workshop on the subject “Role of Cooperatives in Remittance” in the presence of Chief Guest Mr. Kashiram Marasini, Registrar of Co-operative division and Mr. Yogeshwor Sharma Dhakal, Executive Chairman, IMECSL in Illam covering districts like Taplejung, Pachthar, Illam, etc. and a total participation of 104 different cooperatives from these districts. Addressing the workshop, Chief Guest Mr. Marasini focused on the need of fostering transparency in the activities of cooperatives and stated that compliance with rules and regulations will lead to the increase of deposits through remittances which will eventually lead to growth of cooperative business. Likewise IMECSL Chairman Mr. Yogeshwor Dhakal highlighted on the objective of the workshop and said that 12 such workshops will be conducted across Nepal. Similarly Mr. Suman Pokharel, CEO of IME Ltd. added that IME Ltd. and IMECSL have been working together to provide effective remittance services through cooperatives in rural areas where banking facilities are not easily available. Mr. Arjun Poudel Sharma, CEO of IMECSL added that IME Cooperative has been promoting remittance business through a network of more than 1000 cooperatives in association with IME Ltd. and is dedicated to constantly increase the network and provide services across Nepal’s rural markets. The program was addressed by speakers from various organizations from the remittances industry and educated the participants on the importance and role of cooperatives in remittances in the development of rural sector.
